Tips for curating your dream session

There’s something about the creative process of styling a session from start to finish that brings me so much joy! For as long as I could remember I always wanted to build a sense of community and friendship within the photo industry. I feel a lot of the time we book with clients, take the photos and then never hear from one another again. I wanted to create lasting connections. After years of trial and error my vision and dreams of woking with the most amazing and fun loving couples has truly flourished in the past two years! I hope after reading this it gives you the push to curate a session that is completely and utterly YOU!

In the process I always ask clients what their vision is and what is the end product they are wanting. In the beginning of this process of helping clients I create multiple mood boards for them and what they are wanting to incorporate into their session. This is my all time favorite part of the creative process. I get a lot of my inspiration from fellow creatives, wedding magazines, Instagram and the the greatest of all time…Pinterest!

One of my biggest tips for my clients is, DO YOU! If your wanting to incorporate fast food into your vision? Do it. If you want to have your couples jump into a pool, YES MA’AM! Do it right, do it big and most of all, do it for yourself!

Not everyone’s style is the same and I think embracing that is such an amazing thing! Allowing people to express themselves and shine is when the magic happens ✨

Creating your mood board

After figuring out what your vision is, this is when I create a few mood boards to show you to make sure the vibe and poses are what you are looking for.

I have seen so many elopements, engagements and portrait sessions where I feel everyone is going through the motions. Curating a session that is filled with your favorite food, flowers, clothing and any props that bring you happiness is such an important part of the booking process. This is why I take such pride in creating a fun and open space for my clients as these are images you will have saved to show your kids one day!
